Christmas in Connecticut

This morning our destination is Hartford, CT, where we’ll enjoy a day filled with Christmas activities. Our first stop will be the WADSWORTH ATHENEUM where we’ll view their 45th Annual Holiday Tree Display which has become a holiday custom for visitors from throughout the state and beyond. Every year, community members, artists and organizations decorate holiday trees and wreaths to be displayed in the galleries.

Lunch today will be at the CHOWDER POT RESTAURANT. Here you will enjoy a choice of Prime Rib, Baked Stuffed Shrimp or Chicken Marsala, served complete with all the trimmings. These are house specialties and all entrees are delicious!

After lunch, we will visit the MARK TWAIN HOUSE. This is the elaborate Victorian mansion of author Mark Twain, which will be decorated in Victorian Christmas style to celebrate the holiday. It is at this home where Twain wrote Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. The home is also known for its rare interiors designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany. The splendor of this house is highlighted by its Christmas decorations. You are sure to enjoy your delightful Christmas in Connecticut getaway!
