This hiking group is the perfect opportunity to explore/learn about Avon's parks & hiking trails, advance your hiking skills, and hike with great company.  All levels are welcome.  Ages 10+ allowed but anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Hikes will be led at a social pace, 2-3 hours, and participants should be comfortable hiking about 3-4 miles, on moderate trails. The spring program will be run by professional coaches adhering to an age specific curriculum that has been designed through many years of work in Europe, Asia and the USA.Sessions will include hundreds (if not thousands) of touches on the ball while encouraging the players to develop within a holistic environment. Using a ball each as often as possible, the players will evolve through repetition and FUN based sessions. Skills taught through the 6 weeks will include dribbling, 1st touch, passing and shooting.All athletes should have shin guards, and athletic shoes or soccer cleats. Athletes should also bring plenty of water.Due to the erratic Spring weather a rain jacket or heavier clothing may also be advisable as well.

Welcome Gardeners!We’re excited to announce that registration for the Garden Plot Wait List will open on March 25th for the 2026 season! If you’re eager to grow your own vegetables, herbs, and flowers in a community space, this is your chance to request a spot. Our garden plots provide a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature, meet fellow gardeners, and enjoy the satisfaction of cultivating your own fresh produce.Please note that we first contact current garden plot holders to confirm their renewal before assigning available spaces to those on the waiting list. Spaces are limited and in high demand, so be sure to mark your calendar and sign up as soon as registration opens. If a plot opens up, the fees are listed below:Garden Plot Fee: $50Refundable Security Deposit: $25The Recreation office will call you with more details on how to register if a plot becomes available!Please note:  You must register for the wait list every year.  Wait list registration does not carry over from the previous year.
