For Children Entering Gr. 1-3 in Fall 2017

SUMMER FUN CAMP IS ONLY OPEN TO AVON RESIDENTS!

Summer Fun Camp consists of eight one-week sessions. Each day offers a wide variety of sports, arts & crafts, afternoon swim up to two days a week, group games and free play. Each week there will be a special theme and a planned field trip. Swimming is fully supervised by our ARC Certified Lifeguards.Participants can sign up for one week at a time or for all eight sessions. Campers should bring a lunch, snacks, drinks, water bottle, sun block, swim suit and towel. Everything should be labeled with the camper's name. A backpack is recommended. No electronic devices are permitted - leave them home. Min. 25, Max. 35.

The Registration deadline for Summer Day Camps is the THURSDAY prior to the start of the session. Anyone registering after the Thursday deadline, will be charged the full amount and your child cannot report to camp until the TUESDAY of the session.

Program fees will not be pro-rated for any reason.

SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS POLICY

The Avon Recreation and Parks Department welcomes persons with disabilities in all programs and services. If you require reasonable accommodations to a recreation program in order to participate, please indicate this when you register under the "medical conditions" section of your account and call the Recreation and Parks Department at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the program at 860-409-4332.

SUMMER CAMP PROGRAMS:

MEDICAL INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS -
Please indicate when you register your child if they have any Allergy/Medical information.  Remember we are not part of Avon Public Schools and do not have access to your child's medical records or their medications. If you would like our staff to hold medication for your child (Epi Pen, inhalers), please email our office and make arrangements for a med plan to be put in place. Our staff is trained in First Aid/CPR, and Epi Pen administration at our Summer Camp programs.

PARA-PROFESSIONAL SUPPORT -
Support staff will only be available from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. for our summer camp programs. Support for extended day programs will not be available.

SPECIAL ASSISTANCE - Campers needing special assistance may be limited to the amount of programs they can attend dependent upon the demand for support services and staff availability. This policy will ensure that everyone who wants to participate will have an opportunity to take part in integrated fun programs.



Session 8 - End of Summer Fun - Back to School Soon
  • Camp hours are 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (Extended day hours are listed below).
  • Camp is held at Thompson Brook School.
  • Field Trip/Special Event cost is included in the camp fee.
  • The field trip for this session is to FARMINGTON MINIATURE GOLF in Farmington.
  • Campers will play a round of miniature golf followed by ice cream at the Ice Cream Parlor.
  • Also this week is a field day of activities at Sycamore Hills Recreation Area including a cookout and a bounce house.
  • Campers must provide their own lunch and transportation to and from camp.
  • There is a $20 camp discount for 3 or more children in the same family.
  • You CANNOT register for camp at Sycamore Hills Pool. It must be done online.

Extended Day Program Session 8
  • Extended Day is available for an additional fee.
  • Extended day now has 3 options available:
  • Option A is 8:00 - 9:00 a.m.
  • Option B is 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.
  • Option C is 4:00 - 5:00 p.m
  • Children must be picked up promptly at 4:00 p.m. or 5:00 p.m. depending on which option you choose.
  • Fee for extended day is $20.00 PER option.
