General Information
Depart from your area en route to the beautiful Green Mountain state. Our first stop will be the Publyk House in Bennington, VT where we’ll enjoy lunch with a view. On the menu today is your choice of one of the following entrees: Roast Turkey, Homemade Layered Meatloaf, Baked New England Cod or Penne Pasta Primavera, served complete with all the trimmings and a delicious dessert.
After lunch we will board the bus for the Lincoln Family Home at Hildene, considered to be the most important Lincoln site outside of Springfield, Illinois. The carriage barn, built in 1905 by presidential son, Robert Lincoln, is the Welcome Center and home to the Museum Store and interactive displays. A shuttle at the Welcome Center will take you to the various sites on the grounds.
Our last stop of the day will be at the Apple Barn and Country Bake shop in Bennington, VT. This giant, red barn is filled with Vermont products and souvenirs, country bake shop, cafe and ice cream parlor and their own home grown apples and berries. Included in the visit will be a delicious slice of apple pie a la mode that you can sit and savor. Join us for this wonderful Vermont getaway!
