Adventure Camp 1

ADVENTURE CAMP - For students entering Gr. 5-8 in Fall 2024

OPEN TO AVON RESIDENTS ONLY!

Join Avon Adventure Camp for a summer of fun in the sun, exploration, and exciting adventure!  Each session will consist of a different field trip location every day, and lunch will be provided once each week. On days when the field trip ends early, campers will be able to swim at Sycamore Hills Pool, play beach volleyball, gaga ball, and other camp games! Participants can sign up for one week at a time or all seven sessions. Sessions fill up fast, so register early! 

Time: 8:45 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.
Days: Monday – Friday (*Session 2 will run Monday - Wednesday)
AM Drop-off/PM Pick-up: Sycamore Hills Recreation Area
Grades: 5 – 8
Fee: $385.00 (*Session 2 - $231)

Please note that our Adventure Camp is not a typical summer camp. This camp has weekly field trips involving swimming, heights, and loud/busy environments


Session 1: June 24 – June 28
- “Quassy”: amusement and waterpark
- “The Cave”: mini golf, laser tag, high ropes course, and more
- “Hammonasset State Park”: beach fun and games
- “The Adventure Park at Storrs”: high ropes course and zip-line adventure
- “Nomads Adventure Quest”: arcade, laser tag, rock-climbing, and more

*Session 2: July 1 – July 3 (No Camp July 4 or 5)
- “Lake Compounce”: amusement and waterpark
- “IT Adventure Ropes Course”: largest indoor ropes course in the world
- “Hammonasset State Park”: beach fun and games

Session 3: July 8 – July 12
- “Quassy”: amusement and waterpark
- “Hammonasset State Park”: beach fun and games
- “CT Sun Camp Day”: WNBA game
- “Brownstone”: rock climbing, zip lines, waterslide, and more
- “Connecticut Science Center”: exhibits and 3D movie

Session 4: July 15 - July 19
- “Lake Compounce”: amusement and waterpark
- “Black Hall Outfitters”: kayaking and stand up paddleboarding
- “Hammonasset State Park”: beach fun and games
- “Laser Planet Plus”: laser tag and bumper cars
- “Thrillz High Flying Adventure Park”: obstacle course and trampoline park

Session 5: July 22 – July 26
- “Quassy”: amusement and waterpark
- “Sports Center of CT”: laser tag, arcade, golf range, ice skating, and more
- “Hammonasset State Park”: beach fun and games
- “The Adventure Park at the Discovery Museum”: high ropes course and zip-line adventure
- “Powder Ridge Mountain Park and Resort”: mountain biking, tubing, games, and more

Session 6: July 29 – August 2
- “Lake Compounce”: amusement and waterpark
- “Mystic Aquarium”: exhibits and live show
- “Hammonasset State Park”: beach fun and games
- “Brownstone”: rock climbing, zip lines, waterslide, and more
- “Sonny’s Place”: outdoor mini-golf, driving range, go-karts & more

Session 7: August 5 – August 9
- “Quassy”: amusement and waterpark
- “Riverside Reptiles”: exhibits and wild workshop
- “Hammonasset State Park”: beach fun and games
- “Collinsville Canoe & Kayak”: kayaking and stand up paddleboarding
- “End of Summer Party @ Sycamore Hills”: inflatables, games, cook-out, and more!


 
REGISTRATION:
- Registration closes 1 week before the start of each session.
- Once registration closes, no refunds will be given.
- Program fees will not be pro-rated for any reason.
- There is a $20 camp discount for 3 or more children in the same family.

WAITLIST:
- If a session is full, you may add your child to the waitlist by adding the session to your cart and completing the registration (payment will not be collected for the waitlist). You will receive an email confirmation.
- You will only be notified if a spot becomes available. Payment will be required at that time. You will have 24 hours to complete the payment or we will automatically move on to the next person.
- Please call if you no longer wish to be on the waitlist

Please be sure to read through our parent handbook for important information on pick-up/drop-off, packing list, camp policies, and camper expectations. The handbook can be found on the camp registration page under additional links.

CAMP NEWSLETTER:
The Weekly Camp Newsletter will be sent out via email the Friday prior to each session. Please read this newsletter as it will provide important session-specific information such as a packing list, schedule, and reminders. Please make sure your myrec account has “opted-in” for notifications or you will not receive the weekly newsletter and other important emails.
