After School Ski/Snowboard Program at Ski Sundown
for Avon Middle School Students - NEW REGISTRATION PROCESS
SKI * SNOWBOARD * LESSONS * RENTALS
Dates: Thursdays, 1/7/27 – 2/4/27 (5 dates)
Time: 2:45 p.m. – 7:45 p.m.
Location: Bus pick up and drop off at AMS
Grades: 7 – 8

READ THIS FIRST — REGISTRATION HAS CHANGED THIS YEAR
Registering here ONLY reserves your child's BUS SEAT.
This year's registration is a 2-step process:
STEP 1: Register for "Bus Seat" through Avon Recreation here on MyRec.
This secures your child's spot on the bus and places them on our program roster.
STEP 2: Wait for an email from Avon Recreation sometime in October.
Once you are on our roster, we will email you instructions in October for registering directly with Ski Sundown for the items your child needs at the discounted rate, such as:
- Lift pass - $240
- Season Pass Holder lessons - $225
- Lift and Lessons - $380
- Equipment rental - $151
You will complete and pay for all Ski Sundown items directly through Ski Sundown's website. Liability waivers will also be completed online through Ski Sundown.
There are NO additional forms to submit to Avon Recreation this year.
It is the parent/guardian's responsibility to complete the Ski Sundown registration, payment, and liability after receiving instructions from us. Please update your email on your account if necessary and check emails often.
Avon Recreation registration closes November 2 OR when bus seats are full, whichever comes first.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Join us for after-school skiing or snowboarding this winter at Ski Sundown in New Hartford!
Please understand that this is a mostly independent program. Participants will have some supervision, but children will be skiing or snowboarding independently for much of their time at the mountain.
If you do not purchase a Ski Sundown lesson, your child will not receive ski or snowboard instruction from Ski Sundown staff or Avon Recreation chaperones. Lessons are optional.
All skiers and snowboarders must wear helmets. Equipment rentals do not include helmets.
We need chaperones! Please consider chaperoning your child's ski night. We give lift passes to those who can help from 2:45pm-7:45pm.
We do not guarantee more than one makeup session.
MANDATORY SAFETY MEETING
ALL PARTICIPANTS AND CHAPERONES MUST ATTEND.
~Wednesday, December 9 at 6pm via Zoom
This meeting is required even if you have participated in the program in previous years.
IMPORTANT DEADLINES & CANCELLATION POLICY
November 2: Avon Recreation registration closes or earlier if bus seats fill.
November 13: Ski Sundown registration and payment deadline. Registrations completed after this date are subject to a late fee.
November 30: No bus seat refunds and no additional program registrations.
January 4 and after: Cancellations will only be accepted for a medical reason with a doctor's note.
After March 12: Medical refund requests will no longer be accepted in accordance with Ski Sundown's Protection Policy.

If your child requires an accommodation to participate, please contact the Avon Recreation office at 860-409-4332 as soon as possible.
Ski Sundown also offers an Adaptive Ski Program. Our staff can assist families with information about this program upon request.
