Safe@Home is a program designed for students in grades 4 to 6 to prepare them to be safe when they are home alone. Students will learn how to practice safe habits, how to prevent unsafe situations, and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies. Students are also introduced to the Safe Sitter First Aid chart and learn a system to help them assess and respond to injuries and illnesses.
The cost includes a Safe@Home booklet with a first aid chart and what to do/whom to call information.
Participants should wear comfortable clothes and bring a water bottle.
Attention: There is a Student Registration Form that must be filled out for each child and should be emailed to the Department prior to the class start. The form is attached to this program and can be accessed in the "Forms" section. Please fill out and email to lkiesewetter@avonct.gov.
