Accessibility and Reasonable Accommodations Policy

Avon Recreation and Parks Department Accessibility and Reasonable Accommodations Policy

The Avon Recreation & Parks Department is committed to providing welcoming, inclusive programs, services, and facilities for all participants. We strive to create environments where individuals of all abilities feel respected, supported, and able to participate meaningfully in recreation opportunities, and we provide reasonable accommodations to help ensure access. If you or your child requires reasonable accommodation, we encourage you to contact our office in advance so we can work with you to support a positive and successful experience. Early notification allows us to work collaboratively to determine appropriate accommodations.
Participants requesting accommodations may be given the chance to complete a voluntary Program Accommodations Form and/or required Medical Plan Form (for medication administered during programs), available at www.avonrec.com under General Info → Department Info → Forms.

Summer Camp Programs:

  • Para-Professional Support – Support staff will only be available from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. for our summer camp programs. Support for extended day programs will not be available.
  • Reasonable Accommodations for Other Programming - The Department will do everything possible to secure additional support for those who need it. You are encouraged to notify us as soon as possible (at least 3 weeks ahead of time) so we can plan accordingly.
