Participants will play fun games and do some role-playing exercises - including using mannequins to practice choking rescue! The cost includes a cinch sack with a Student Handbook and Completion Card, LED Flashlight, Bandage Dispenser, and Important Information Note Pad for Babysitting Jobs for each student.* Please note that the class will teach CPR, but a CPR certification is not included.Students should bring a non-refrigerated bag lunch and wear comfortable clothing.Please fill out the Student Registration form linked below and send via email to avonrec@avonct.gov before the class start.

Community Voices Youth Choir with Performing Arts Programs!Ages 7-12Be part of history.As part of the Avon & Farmington 250 Celebration, children ages 7–12 are invited to join Community Voices, a special youth choir created for this once-in-a-generation community celebration marking the 250th anniversary of our nation.Participants will learn and perform “We Stand,” an original, energetic celebration song written by Michael Lamb of Performing Arts Programs. The song reflects the spirit of Avon and Farmington standing side by side while celebrating unity, community pride, and this historic milestone.No prior singing experience is required — just enthusiasm, commitment, and a willingness to be part of something meaningful.Participants will receive access to a simple online practice portal with lyrics and rehearsal tracks prior to the first rehearsal, allowing them to become familiar with the song at home.Program DetailsAges: 7–12Rehearsals: Saturday, June 13 & Saturday, June 20Time: 3:00pm - 4:30pmRehearsal Location: Avon Senior CenterPerformance: Friday, June 26, 2026Performance Time: 5:40pm - 6:00pm (please arrive by 5pm)Rain Date: Saturday, June 27, 2026Location: 99 Thompson Road, Avon CT (Thompson Brook Recreation Area)Please carpool when possible as parking is limited!
